surfed at torquay beach, Happy St. Patricks Day!!

Torquay Beach

I finally managed to learn how to surf and stand on the board and ride a wave.. although not a very big wave..but still. Jc and I joined the monash sport day trip to torquay to surf and to visit bells beach, somewhere after geelong.

me and the surfboard. Its 8 feet 6 inches. Long boards are used to surf straight, shorter ones are for style surfing.

Bells beach. One of the most famous surfing beaches in australia. The ripcurl pro surfing festival will be held here during easter. Featuring surfers like Kelly Slater and Mick Fanning

Picture of Kelly Slater doing his thing

Frolicking at Bells Beach

A overhanging cliff which we were afraid of going under to take a picture. A part of the cliff might just fall down and kill us instantly. Thinking of how larnee almost died from ice pieces falling right infront of her.

Revealing perspectives

Jc first handstand!! Congrats bro!!

Marking Bells Beach. Planted my flag.

In the bus after surfing. Wished they let us surf somemore, only had about 2-3 hours of surfing. It was good fun though.

Look what we found at the parking lot of the surf retail outlets. A Porche with a bike mount...Better be some Trek bike and not some cheap made in china one.

Later that night we went to Dooleys, an irish pub for the St. Patricks Celebration. The place was packed and they charged us 5 bucks for cover. Since it was one of the nearest pub cum club to monash uni, we saw lotsa familar faces.

My surf instructor spotted me from the crowd. and i was like.. omg.. wtf are you doing here. Torquay beach was like a 2 hours drive from monash uni in clayton. Todd was studying in Mannix college, so it explains everything. He works as a surf instructor on weekends and gets paid about 20 bucks per hour. He owns 3 surfboards. 2 second hand ones which cost about 300 aud and a new one cost 600 aud. crazy..dunno where he managed to save all that money

My souvenir for the day, i feel like an alcoholic!!
